A lot has been said about Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om being a remake of Subhash Ghai’s 1980 hit film Karz . While Farah has completely denied the claims, it is somewhat strange to know that Subhash Ghai will be making a special appearance in Om Shanti Om. Already touted to be one of the biggest films of the year, the film has always been in the news for its mammoth star-cast for a single song or just the fact that Shah Rukh is in it. Subhash Ghai to get some more dope on his cameo. “Shah Rukh Khan (producer) is a close family friend and so is Farah. She called me up and asked me to appear for a shot and so I did,” said Subhash Ghai. So the film isn’t a remake of his yesteryear hit? “Farah told me that it isn’t a remake of Karz but rather a tribute to my film Karz. The common factor in both the film is both have the subject of reincarnation in the film and maybe a few songs from the original will be used,” says he. And so what is the showman who is known to make special one minute appearances in his films going to be doing in this one? “I cannot talk about what I am doing in the film but I will let you know that I play the man that we all know as Subhash Ghai”, says he smiling.
