Deepika Padukone in the limelight

Deepika Padukone seems to be having her cake and eating it too. While she seems to have it all, the media attention sure could be a scripted tale or is this just another case of the stars favouring one another.

While her onscreen avatar is yet to be unveiled, the little girl who’s come into the big bad world of Bollywood is already flooded with offers.

She’s the daughter of badminton champ Prakash Padukone, and now she has her own calling card. After reigning the couture ramps as the nation’s numero uno supermodel, the movies were as inevitable as rainfall in June.

So what makes this lass stand out? The SRK factor, the celebrity father or an efficient publicist? Whatever it is, Deepika’s love life seems to be giving her more attention than she can handle.

With rumours of her linkup with Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika is also getting her share of controversies at the right time to draw everyone’s attention. On the professional front, there are more films than she can wish for. On the private front, she was harnessed to aspiring actor Nihar Pandya. But she soon exchanged him for the first family son Ranbir, only to return to Nihar again. The reason – the apparent displeasure of Ranbir’s parents.

Recently, Ranbir and Nihar Pandya’s tiff helped the girl grab headlines yet again. Their bone of contention – Miss Padukone herself. It seems she is also getting the right dose of controversy for a rising star.

Considering Deepika is under contract to remain mum till ‘Om Shanti Om’ is released, it doesn’t seem like she’s doing a very good job of staying out of the spotlight.
